The Panasonic 550 BluRay/HDD/Tuner's Network Service page provides quick access to a range of apps "supported" by Panasonic (that's what the manual says), eg iView, SBS on Demand etc. Does anyone know if you can add other apps - like Plus7 for example, and if so, how do you add them?

Beyonwiz T3
it means you have Hbb TV enabled
...
No, it means that HbbTV is available from the broadcaster being viewed. I don't think that it's possible to enable/disable HbbTV on the T series.
ABC iView works quite well on the T series. I'm able to enter SBS On Demand on the T series, but the screens don't seem to work properly (only a small part of the "genre" list can be accessed), and I've never been able to play SBS On Demand content on the T series. Commercial broadcasters' HbbTV services simply don't work at all on the T series. Most "Free"view Plus content seems to be tied up very tightly with DRM.
My Toppy 5000 Pvrt - 10 Years Old This Week!
Ten years ago I purchased a Topfield 5000 PVRt (SD only) for the 2006 Soccer World Cup and it still gets daily use (mostly by Mrs. Soap because she finds it very user friendly). Call me a troglodyte, but it doesn't miss a beat and is a testament of good design and build quality.
Tivo Replacement
Hi All
Firstly I apologise if this topic has been cover already, still finding my way through searching.
My Tivo is on the way out, random restarts ect ect...
From what I can find online there aren't to many products that seem to compare to it. What products can people recommend I start looking at to replace my old unit?
Key features would be:-
1. Season Pass (records an entire season, even it changes times or channels)
2. File management. The Tivo does a good job of deleting things to keep HDD space. This is based on dates and times I believe.
3. Online scheduling of recordings.
Thanks in advance
Dan
Magic Pvr Arrived Today
OK folks, this PVR is fine. Despite a small label on the box saying it is a 3700, my appraisal is it IS a 4000. It has "Freeview" plastered everywhere and that should mean no SKIP function (to jump through ads) BUT this unit does have a working skip option. It is simple to program recordings from the EPG and appears to have a reasonably sensitive tuner (important for here). No PIP function but it does have s-video out for feeds to a DVDR, a feature being omitted on many new recorders. I have not bothered with a wireless dongle but did hardwire it in on set up.
So guys, if you want an HD PVR with a massive 1 TB HDD, this is a huge bargain - the best I've ever seen.
I'll report back later on how it settles in.

Humax HDR-7510T and Netflix
I was under the impression that Humax and Netflix had an app arrangement. I cannot get Netflix on the HDR-7510T. I have updated all the software. Help appreciated.
Panasonic DMR-BWT955GL
Has anyone bought one of these pvr's. My tv only has scart inputs and by reading the info on this unit it only outputs to hdmi. Do I need to get a hdmi to scart adapter or is there another way to get it to work???
Topfield TRF7160 Decoder/tuner Problem
My 7160 appears to be having trouble tuning to or decoding signals - mainly when cold. Have found recently several occasions where the picture stops. Today it said signal scrambled, but the TV was able to operate fine from the same signal. Several auto recordings have been faulty. Early today I reset the unit and rescanned. At first it would not pick up stations but when I did a manual scan it picked up the station, then an auto scan worked. Later in the day the unit again failed to work when I switched it on. This evening I left it on for an hour or so then reset to factory settings and rescanned and it is working fine at the moment. This leads me to think it is a hardware problem with the tuner or decoder.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?
Homecast HT8000 Firmware
I'm trying to revive an old Homecast HT8000 I had sitting around for a few years. It was working when I retired it (once I replaced a capacitor) but is no longer working. Stuck on Loader V100. All power supply voltages are OK except for a 7V that reads 7.4V, but I have no way of checking the quality of that 7.4V. I thought about trying to reboot with new firmware, but I can't find a site with Homecast firmware anywhere. I also can't find a backup of my old PC that has my Homecast files on it Does anyone have firmware files or know where I can get them?
I also tried to connect the hard drive to my PC (via a USB-SATA connector) and my PC doesn't detect the device as an available drive - is this normal? (I guessing the PVR has a proprietry format.)
Cheers. Alan
Humax 4Tune Questions
Our Beyonwiz T3 died last weekend and given our previous Beyonwiz S1 had also gone to it's grave I made a rash, and emotional decision to abandon Beyonwiz and try another brand by picking up a Humax 4Tune. We've only had the Humax for one night so can't really comment on it, though initial impressions are favourable. However we have a number of questions. The manual only takes you so far. Can anyone direct me to further information on how to use it? Or possibly answer some of these questions?
We don't have the internet at home. (It's too expensive). This was never a problem for the T3, but the Humax seems to be holding back features without it. For instance, when scheduling a recording using the FTA EPG there is often no way that I can see to repeat the schedule weekly. Sometimes, it offers "Record Series", but not always. On the T3 I'd set an auto timer. Is there any on the Humax to have further control over schedules?
We don't have any kind of home network. On the T3 we had copied all our home movies and photos into it's internal hard drive to enjoy watching them from time to time. With the Humax that option doesn't appear to be available. It will play files off a memory stick, but we have far too much content to fit on one. I've no experience with a "NAS", but is that something that will solve the problem?
Tvixie
I have two TVix HD S1 Duo Slim PVR's and the machines work AOK. But the software TVixie has ceased to work correctly. It claims all the movies
I ask for (old or new) do not exist. I cannot find solution on the website and was hoping for help here.
trouble with HT8200 PVR
Hi all we came home after being away for about 10 days and found the above unit to be displaying ;loading v101. remote not working, batteries ok, checked all leads etc and nothing seemed to work. Finally switched the unit off at the rear and this got rid of the display turned it back on then nothing. Now can,t turn it on at all, read some where trying to find a solution and one chap suggested what he had done was to clean with a vacumn and replCED cap not sure what cap is or where it is located. I have not removed the back as it is sealed.
Can anyone suggest what can be done or should it be binned????

Homecast Ht8000pvr - Transferring Files Onto A Pc
Hi.
I have a Homecast 8000. I've connected a laptop running Windows XP to the PVR whilst in Standby mode, and the laptop has automatically installed the drivers for the PVR. But it doesn't recognise it as a disk drive in explorer's "My Computer" display. (The hard disk utility recognises it as a greyed out and untouchable drive.)
I'm not sure what to do next. How can I get my PC to see the video files in the PVR? Has anyone else successfully transferred recordings off the Homecast?
TiVo EPG Broken
As of around one week ago TiVo EPG no longer updates in Australia on their STBs and all owners are getting an N18 network error when trying to connect to their service. TiVo support has no resolution and no time frame to repair the problem! Further information can be found on Whirlpool here https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2430586&p=66
UPDATE:
As of 30 minutes ago the TiVo service has come back up after being down for over a week, I guess the hundreds of support emails zapped them into action
Topfield mute for 2-4 seconds upon starting playback of a recording
This seems to be fairly new behaviour that started maybe within the last month or so.
It only seems to happen when playback starts and it does not matter if I start the recordings from the start or at a point part way through. Once the recording is playing, skipping 30 seconds etc does not cause any issues (I hear the audio immediately after skipping). Also, if I am just flicking through channels and not playing back a recording, I don't have any audio issues either.
Anyone know what might be going on?
Samsung BD-H8500A review
Just bought this unit as I wanted to give new life to my old Samsung LED TV that had no connectivity.
The functionality I wanted was
Netflix access
Plex access
Record TV
Common remote with Samsung TV
Timeshift function
So far it has ticked all these boxes, but now having this functionality I want more.
Freeview Plus functionality with net based EPG
A better timeshift function that operates without the need for manual intervention.
A cleaner and faster interface. (I know this is possible as I'm comparing it to my new 32 inch Samsung Smart TV which has a much better interface)
Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Any thoughts?
Regards
Argy
Fetch TV Mighty or Humax 4Tune
The rubbish T3 has finally expired and is destined for the bin.
Given I will NEVER buy another BeyonWiz POS my replacement choices are limited.

Beyonwiz T3 Help
Hi All
i am a longtime beyonwiz user with two P2s and a T3. Been relatively painless experience except replaced HDD in both P2s but that was expected given their use and replaced some caps on one P2 power supply again not unexpected given their use. Ii splashed out on a T3 about 18 months ago and apart from some niggles with stability it has been ok but I don't mind having to fiddle a bit with the system.
out of the blue the T3 has refused to boot after going into a reboot midway through a normal viewing evening and never recovering. I tried the 60 second power off to reset the unit but now it is frozen with beyonwiz-T3 on the LCD and no other activity. I tried reloading the firmware but it is not recognising the USB in fact I suspect the boot loader is also corrupted. It doesn't appear on my LAN so at this point it is completely bricked - any thoughts from anyone as to how to proceed from here? I would prefer not to bin it!
Thanks
Steve
Panasonic Dmr-Hw220 Pvr Opinions
Hi guys, I posted this on another site but not getting any answers. I know this thread is a bit old now. But I just got myself a DMR-HW220 so I could receive the new 9HD channel.
I just found out also this unit will play MP4 movies perfectly via the front USB port from a USB stick, but the sound is way off sync, like not just a little, but some seconds
I know the MP4 movie is fine on the USB stick, as it plays in perfect video audio sync if I play it on my desktop computer with Windows Media Player.
Does anyone have an answer to this USB MP4 audio sync problem I'm having???
Cheers George
